I have been doing a lot of planning over the last few weeks for where Ill be and what I will be doing and it looks like I’m going to have a really busy summer yet again! Soon the summer fun will begin, however a few more things to sorted out before we get into the summer sun! Its been a pretty busy last couple of weeks with the Rugby World Cup and the bunch of Canoe Slalom Camps. Great weekend all round! I was one part of a slick coaching team that helped our next future champions at the New Zealand U18 Development Team Camp. We spent a few days training out at Mangahao where the kids had a large whitewater block, a few talks and teaching them a few tricks. A couple of nights ago we had the 2011 Massey University Sports Awards Dinner. It was a pretty cool evening with a good feed and agreat guest speaker, Paul Henare – ex NZ Basketballer, NZ Breaker and Hawkes Bay Hawkes Coach. He shared a few cool stories from his basketball days and we were presented with our Blues awards. Congratulations to Ayla Dunlop-Barrett (Surf Life Saving) who won the BNZ Manawatu Sportswoman of the Year and Hamish Bond (Rowing) for BNZ Manawatu Sportsman of the Year. Mt Ruaphu

I have been back in good old New Zealand for a couple of weeks now and have been taking it easy! I caught a pretty gnarly bug a couple of days after I got home and spent a good week resting in front of the TV, computer and sleeping!
