Yip that wraps up another NZ Selection races and the New Zealand Open. The weekend was a pretty good one with a quite a few internationals coming over to race which is always great to see!! Congratulations to Mike Kurt who took the win today in front of Fabian Dorfler and John Hastings coming home in 3rd. Following my Tour with the Junior Team I came straight home to coach at another camp held in Kawerau. There was a fantastic turn out with lots of young paddlers learning heaps. The Kawerau Training camp was held last week and was aimed at developing our younger athletes and also developing some of our coaches. The weather looked like it was going to present some issues but luckily its always sunny in Kawerau… The kids stayed warm and had a great time and learnt a lot from our coaches. Thanks to Ollie for her hard work organizing the camp! Follow this link for a few more Photos of the Kawerau Camp! Unfortunately the wild weather hit the Bay of Plenty pretty hard so there was too much water to hold a race at  [ Read More ]
